Surviving Your Serengeti

Each of us has a unique life…our own goals, burdens and challenges. Every day another company cuts jobs or slides into bankruptcy, forcing hundreds of thousands of people into uncertainty, anxiety and a sense of helplessness. With a failing economy, even the normal tribulations of life have been intensified so that everyday hardships seem insurmountable.

My new book Surviving Your Serengeti (due for release Spring 2011) is a fascinating story, filled with the magic of Africa, the mystique of wild animals and the epic saga of the Serengeti migration itself. This larger-than-life message serves as a metaphor for our journey through life, and the challenges, problems, sorrows and struggles we as humans all experience.

Surviving Your Serengeti illustrates how nine animals (lions, elephants, cheetahs, crocodiles and many more) each demonstrate different skills to overcome adversity, hunger, dehydration and predation. Nine skills and proficiencies that each one of us can use to be successful whether in business, sport or life.

This is a blog dedicated to mastering those skills that help us achieve goals and overcome the challenges in our own lives. I will regularly be sharing stories of business leaders, sport stars, etc. as well as every day people, like you and me.

Everyone is also invited to share stories about your own experiences or someone you know. Stories that offer us a glimpse into how wonderful, interesting and inspirational we can be.

Let’s celebrate achievement. Let’s celebrate life.

I really enjoyed the books. having started my own company 3years ago in Tanzania it makes me want to go back to the Serengeti this year and revisit the animals with the book. A must read for anyone in Business especially in Africa where the challenges are much greater and risks much higher.
